英会話学習: 英会話エッセンス(初級用)

長い人生の間には、1度や2度は面接をうけることがある
かも知れません。

今日は次の会話を英語に置き換えてみましょう。

《会話例》

「どうぞおかけください。最初にいくつか質問をさせて

いただきます。」

「何についてですか？」

「そうですね、例えば音楽についてとか。

音楽は好きですか？」

「ええ、好きです。クラシックとジャズが好きです。」

「外国の食べ物は好きですか？」

「いいえ。私は日本料理が好きです。」

「貴方は何歳ですか？」

「何ですって？そのような個人的な質問は好きでは

「ああ、そうですね、後でこの書類を記入して私宛に

郵送していただけますか？」

「わかりました。」

《英語に置き換え例》

"Please sit down.First,I have some questions

for you."

"What about?"

"Well,about music for example.Do you like music?"

"Yes,I do.I like classical music and jazz."
 
"Do you like foreign food?"

"No,I don't.I like Japanese food."

"How old are you?"

"What? I don't like these personal questions."

"Oh,well uh,can you fill out this form later

and mail it to me?"

"Sure."

 
《語句の説明》

First →話題に入るときに初めに使う言葉です。

レーザーパラにきび

What about? →「〜はどうですか」などと聞くときに

良く使われますが、ここでは、聞かれたことを確認する

言葉として使っています。

for example →例えば、例として

classical music →クラシック音楽

jazz →ジャズ

foreign →外国の、外国にある

personal →個人の、私事にかかわる

fill out →書き込む、書き入れる

form →記入用紙、記入書類

mail to →〜に郵送する

sure →いろいろな意味で使われますが、ここでは

返答として「承知しました」の意味です。
